BJ Doyle

Meet BJ Doyle, part of the team at #HHNBC. BJ’s exposure to Home Healthcare Network was first as a client, engaging respite services while caregiving full-time for his wife, Judy. After her passing, BJ spent time in volunteer work with those afflicted with Alzheimer’s prior to successfully completing an online course through the University of Tasmania in Australia to further his understanding of dementia disorders.

Inspired by these events he approached #HHNBC’s Founder and Owner Caroline Gagne about coming on board in the role of Companion Caregiver. As Caroline’s attitude was basically “experience makes an expert”, BJ then joined our team in Summer 2019.

“I’m interested in helping others, especially those in the early stages of their affliction as I believe it’s about living in THEIR world and assisting each individual with retaining as much of their autonomy as possible for as long as possible”, says BJ. “See the person, not the disease” sums up BJ’s approach to Companion Caregiving. And through shepherding his own partner’s journey to its completion, a newfound passion for the enriching rewards that caregiving brings runs deep. As BJ adds, “Sometimes you have to reach into someone else’s world to find what’s missing in your own.”
